The machine is in frequent use and is always demonstrated to visitors to Shooting Star Press. This machine was formally as the shop of George Mills, author of Platen Press Operation and one time teacher at Carnegie Tech. This machine was bought from George in about 1993 while he was in Ft. Smith, AR in the later years of his life. George bought the machine from the University of Oklahoma which probably bought it new. This is probably the last operating Linotype in Arkansas.
